Friendly reminder: Sinag-tala 2009 DVD Viewing

Hello again, Sinag-tala Family! I hope you’re managing to keep dry. This is just another reminder that we’re showing the ST2009 DVD this coming Saturday, January 30, at the Studio. It’s our yearly tradition, and everyone’s invited!

We’re having a potluck starting at 3:00PM. Bring something to share!

Also, we can really use the help of a few good volunteers to help set up the food area, tables, chairs, projection screen, etc. So I’d appreciate hearing from anyone who can be there at 2:45PM or earlier to give us a hand.

DVDs that have been paid for may be picked up during the showing. Copies are available for those who haven’t ordered or paid yet at $35 per copy. Bring a check or cash. See you on Saturday. Please RSVP via e-mail. Thanks.

You’re invited to the ST2009 DVD Screening!

Hi, Sinag-tala Family. Time for another reunion! We’re having a screening party to celebrate the release of the ST2009 DVD – bonus footage and interviews included!

Whether you were onstage the entire time and wondered how things looked from the audience seats, or you were in the audience but wished you could see the show close up, or you didn’t get to see the show and would like to see the magic you missed, here’s your chance! Also, listen to some inspiring and funny on-camera interviews! Find out what little JJ wouldn’t say!

At 3:00PM on Saturday, January 30 we’re having a potluck at the Studio. The screening will begin promptly at 3:20PM. We’ll have some food and beverages, view the DVD, admire ourselves, cheer and be very amused. And we can celebrate seeing each other again – after all, it’ll have been seven whole weeks since the cast party!

All those who have already ordered (and paid) for their DVDs may pick up their copies at the party; those who have not yet ordered or paid may still do so (bring your check book or $35 in cash or pay in advance online by clicking on the Donate button on the right). Either way, won’t it be nice to see everyone again? Please RSVP by responding to this e-mail by January 26. Thanks and see you at the party!

You are invited to our Sinag-tala Benefit Night!

ST Benefit Postcard

There’s no doubt that the Sinag-tala Benefit Night will be packed with entertainment, dancing, moving ceremonial moments, awards, raffle prizes and Sinag-tala luminaries plus a silent auction and no-host bar (all checkbooks and cash welcome). But even less doubtful is the huge boost it will be giving to a 20-year-old called Sinag-tala 2009: A Thearical Revue. The net proceeds from the Benefit Night will help cover production costs at a time not only when arts funding is getting harder to come by but production costs are increasing. The hourly fee for the hiring of school custodians alone has gone up a whopping 48%, yet the number of hours we’ll be working the Luther Burbank High School campus may have to increase because of the additional time it may take to put on an anniversary-worthy show. Add to that the cost of insurance, lighting and sound rentals, studio space rental, props, costumes, transportation, storage, printing, advertising, materials, supplies and other production necessities and the big picture gets clearer. That’s just one of many reasons to come to the Sinag-tala Benefit Night at 7:00PM on Friday, September 25 at the Holiday Villa Restaurant, 7007 South Land Park Drive, South Sacramento. Admission is only $32 per person. But reserve your seats by September 11 or you may miss out entirely. It’s easy! Use our “Donate Now” button to the right to purchase your seats online with a Visa or Mastercharge card. For more information, contact Cristine Lacerna or Karen Sinnung.

Sinag-tala 2009 Auditions

Hello, friends. We receive a lot of questions about how often and where we train for the Sinag-tala Theatrical Revue, how much time participants have to commit, how late we rehearse, if we charge anything, etc. Perhaps you’ve wondered about those things yourself. Well, to help you out, we’re forwarding some useful information. Please take a minute or two to go over the attached General Information About the 2009 Sinag-tala Training Program so you’ll learn more about what it’s going to be like to be in the ST2009 company. The bottom line is, it’s a lot of work for everyone but the payback is worth much more than you invest. And we’re open to working things out with those who have special circumstances.

Sinag tala 2009 Auditions Flyer

ALL singers, dancers, actors and musicians MUST attend the SINGING AUDITIONS on July 10 or 11. No appointment necessary. Inexperienced and advanced performers alike are welcome. Be prepared to sing any song of your choice. Bring CD or live accompaniment if desired.
The dance auditions are for ages 12 and above only. Be ready to stretch, turn, bend and jump. No high heels, boots, sandals, flip-flops, baggy pants, short shorts, skirts, lowriders or tight or revealing clothing. Sweats, longer shorts, regular-fit jeans, sneakers and casual shoes are ok. Bring ballet, tap and/or jazz shoes also if you have them. Workshops and rehearsals begin on August 1. Sinag-tala 2009 will be presented on December 4, 5, and 6. Info: salforque@aol.com .

Sinag-tala Benefit Night

Dear Sinag-tala Family and Friends

We bailed out the bank, credit card and auto industry. Isn’t it time to
“bail” out the arts and artists in our own community?

SFTPAA is asking you to help “stimulate” the future of our community by
investing in the training of artists and promotion of arts, culture, and
history.

Be part of our effort to continue the work that Sinag-tala have been doing
for the past 20 years. Help us raise funds for the 20th Anniversary of the
Sinag-tala: A Theatrical Revue.

Attend our first-ever Sinag-tala Benefit Night on:

Saturday, September 26, 2009
6:30 pm to 11 pm
California Ballroom, Doubletree Hotel (2001 Point West Way,
Sacramento, Ca 95015)

Ticket to the event is $50 per person.

You will enjoy sit-down dinner, performances, live band, no-host bar, raffles, silent auctions, and
dance.

RSVP to Cristine Lacerna at chie1000pix@comcast.net or call her at
916-514-3146.

This event is 14 weeks away. You have plenty of time to save for the
ticket and invite family and friends to come. This is both a fundraising
event for our upcoming show in December 2009 and a homecoming for our
Sinag-tala alumni from 1990 onwards.

Sincerely,

Cristine Lacerna
SFTPAA Board Member
